You can turn your empty ink cartridge or laser toner into a coin bank by taking off the front part first then cleaning the cartridge. Place that part back and tape it then create a hole on top of it enough for you to insert those coins or bills.
Plant Pot
You may also create a plant pot from those cartridges especially when these are big ones. Just be sure to clean the cartridges first then create holes on the bottom part for the water to flow whenever you are watering your plants.
Toy for Pet
Create a dungeon for your fish in its aquarium by putting together your ink cartridges. This will make a huge tunnel wherein your pet can play around. Keep in mind to clean every part of the cartridge first to avoid poisoning your fish.
These are just some of the things that you can actually do to recycle your printer cartridges and show your creativity as well. Just use your imagination and surely those garbage will turn into something new made by your own hands.
