HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401 Series with Duplex, Network and Wireless Features

One of the LaserJet series printers that were released in the second quarter of 2012 is the HP Pro 400 M401 lineup. It offers an enormous range of five configurations which include the M401A, M401D, M401DN, M401DNE and lastly the M401DW. These are well-rounded printers with interesting unique features which may probably suit the type of unit you want.

Keeping the scores high, the quality of printouts they can provide are considerably well across the board. Extra features like the touch-screen control panel adds elegance to their already fine and exquisite design. All the models are coated in black with a glossy matte finish to kick in that professional-look making them well suited for any environment.

Media Capacity

Paper handling comes a little unexpected for such bulky printers. In general, a 250-sheet paper drawer can be easily accessed right in front of the machine, with a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. Four among the configurations are equipped with a built-in automatic duplexer which is mainly use for printing on both sides of a page. Well the good news for you guys is that since you noticed it’s quite short in input capacity, HP added an optional or rather a secondary tray which can hold up to 500-sheets of additional media.

Connectivity

For the interfaces, it may vary depending on the model you chose. Basically the ones with network capabilities are considered networked-ready printers and come built-in with Ethernet or WiFi interfaces. The latter option which enables wireless printing is only available with the M401DW model. Hence, if you want to do your print tasks without those loads of cables and wires, it’s the best option for you. While other units such as M401DN and M401DNE are also capable of receiving prints over a network, but is still limited to wired connection via the LAN.

Supplies

Now with the supplies, accessories and consumables, since they all came from the same range or series, whichever you will choose the only thing you need to remember is you have to purchase a replacement toner. The cables and other accessories are already provided in the box upon purchasing the printer, so what your only obligation is to get your machine a replacement HP CF280A (80A) toner cartridge supply. It’s not that costly considering that you don’t have to buy a separate drum unit since it serves as a cartridge and drum in one.
