Replacing HP 131A Toner Cartridges for HP LaserJet Pro M251nw

The HP LaserJet Pro M251nw is a professional laser printer that “produces professional-quality color documents that help boost business” and “use business apps to access and print from the Web.” It delivers “professional-quality color in the office, for printing from virtually anywhere, and for accessing apps to print web content without a PC.” Most of all, it can create high-impact and color marketing materials with its HP ImageREt 3600 and ColorSphere II toner, and can optimize settings with HP EasyColor.

This printer uses replacement printer cartridges, HP 131A toner cartridges: HP CF210A black toner cartridge, HP CF211A cyan toner cartridge, HP CF212A yellow toner cartridge and HP CF213A magenta toner cartridge. And for today’s article, we’re going to give a step-by-step procedure on how you can replace HP 131A toner cartridges in your HP LaserJet Pro M251nw. These instructions come from HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251nw support.

How to Replace HP 131A Toner Cartridges in HP LaserJet Pro M251nw
  • Step 1 - Open the front door.
  • Step 2 - Pull out the toner cartridge drawer.
  • Step 3 - Grasp the handle on the toner cartridge, and then pull the toner cartridge straight up to remove it.
  • Step 4 - Remove the new toner cartridge from the packaging.
  • Step 5 - Gently rock the toner cartridge from front to back to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge.
  • Step 6 - Remove the plastic shield from the bottom of the new toner cartridge.
  • Step 7 - Do not touch the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge. Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print-quality problems.

  • Step 10 - Close the toner cartridge drawer.
  • Step 11 - Close the front door.
  • Step 12 - Place the old toner cartridge and the plastic shield in the box for the new toner cartridge. Follow the recycling instructions that are included in the box.

After replacing the HP toner cartridges in your HP LaserJet printer, print test pages to make sure that the laser toner cartridges are working properly and are not defective. If the printer doesn’t recognize the newly installed toner cartridges then reset the printer.
