How to Replace Brother TN221 and Brother TN225 Toner Cartridges in Brother MFC-9340CDW

Own a Brother MFC-9340CDW laser printer or probably be using this machine in the office? Well, this machine offers multiple functions such as printing, faxing and scanning that no wonder many small businesses and home offices opt to choose this printer to deliver their office needs. And for today’s article, we’re going to give you the steps on how you can replace the Brother laser toner  cartridges in your Brother MFC-9340CDW especially if it’s the first time you’re going to change the cartridges.

Be sure to follow the steps and refer to the illustrations if you’re quite unsure of what you’re doing. These instructions are from BrotherSolutions Center so you can be sure that it would work. Before installing the cartridges in your printer, check that you have bought the right printer consumables. The Brother MFC-9340CDW laser toner cartridges are composed of 4 set of cartridges: the Brother TN221BK black toner cartridge, Brother TN225C cyan toner cartridge, Brother TN225Y yellow toner cartridge and Brother TN225M magenta toner cartridge. This set is also known in the market as the Brother TN221/Brother TN225 toner cartridges. If you bought the right printer consumables, proceed to the following steps. If not, then call the printer supplies store and ask for them to replace it with Brother TN221/Brother TN225 toner cartridge.

Steps to Replace Brother TN221 and Brother TN225 Toner Cartridges in Brother MFC-9340CDW

• Step 1 – Make sure that the Brother MFC-9340CDW is turned on.
• Step 2 – Open the top cover of your Brother MFC-9340CDW until it locks in the open position.
• Step 3 – Take out the empty toner cartridge/s and drum unit assembly for the color shown on the printer’s display.
  
• Step 4 – Push down the green lock lever and take the toner cartridge/s out of the drum unit.
  
• Step 5 – Unpack the new Brother TN221/Brother TN225 toner cartridge/s and hold the cartridge level with both hands then gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner powder inside the printer cartridge/component.
• Step 6  – Pull of the protective cover from the toner cartridge/s.
  
• Step 7 – Place the new toner cartridge/s firmly into the drum unit until you hear a certain click that signifies that it is already locked in place. If you have installed the cartridge/s correctly, the green lock lever on the drum unit will lift automatically.
• Step 8 – Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right and right to left several times.
  
• Step 9 – Slide the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly into the machine. Make sure you match the toner cartridge color to the same color label on the machine.
  
• Step 10 – To keep good print quality, clean the corona wire inside the drum unit of the other colors.
• Step 11 – Close the top cover of the machine.

If you’re installing compatible or remanufactured BrotherMFC-9340CDW laser toner cartridges and the printer’s not recognizing it then restart the printer. To restart it, turn off the machine and pull the power cord from the rear of the product then from the power outlet. Wait up to 10 to 15 minutes then plug the power cord back to the outlet and to your printer. Turn on the computer and see if it had finally recognized your newly installed cartridges.
