The positive part of this printer are the dual paper trays and built-in duplexer which can really be a plus when you want to save on paper and inks too. The not so quite trouble, however, are the lack of Ethernet, color LCD, and card slots. These can cause a little problem when wanting to print images because you have to directly have your printed materials from the camera. Another difficulty on this printer is the amount on its original ink cartridges that can drain pockets when a lot of printing is done. This printer consumes the CLI8BK, CLI8C, CLI8M, CLI8Y, CLI8PC, CLI8PM ink cartridges which can be purchased in bulks. Moreso, buying in sets can really cost a lot so solution to this is the use of premium compatible cartridges.
Premium compatible cartridges are really made to meet or exceed OEM cartridge performance. The standard page capacity and print quality can match or exceed the original brand name cartridges. These cartridges only lay the difference from the original ones on the pricing because these are far less expensive than the others. You don’t get less from a premium compatible cartridge; rather you gain satisfaction and high quality printouts from it.
