Although resetting your HP printer can be the very last option that you may want to do to your printer when it is starting to cause printing problems, you will still have to consider this so that you can save the life of your printing partner. So, if you are about to do this step and you do not have the slightest idea on how to reset that printer, here are the right steps for you.
The Cold Resetting
There is this technique called the cold resetting wherein your printer will return its function to the factory default levels. If your HP printer has a memory card, be sure to take it off first to avoid losing your files. Next is to try resetting the NVRAM which you can do by turning off your printer then pressing the “Go” button while turning on the machine.
Specific Printer Model Resetting
If you think that the cold resetting method won’t work for your printer, you can try the specific printer model resetting which is meant to function on a certain type of printer of course.
For HP1200 and 1100 models, you just have to alter the data found on your service mode. If you do not have a display panel, you will have to press the “Go” button for a few seconds without turning the printer off.
For HP 2100 printer models, keep your printer off then press the “Job Cancel” key. Do not let go until you have turned on the printer and the LED lights have lighted. You can also do this to an HP 2200 printer by pressing the “Go” button instead.
These are just some of the quick ways for you to reset that HP printer, but if you wish to avoid this, you must always do proper maintenance on your printer.
