How to Replace Brother LC61 Ink Cartridges for Brother MFC-250C

The Brother MFC-250C inkjet all-in-one printer offers several function including print, copy, scan and fax that helps increases productivity with print speeds up to 27ppm black and 22ppm in color. It delivers professional printing resolutions with its droplet sizes as small as 1.5 picoliters and high resolutions up to 6000 x 1200dpi.

Brother MFC-250C inkjet all-in-one printer is built with a 4-Cartridge Ink System which lets users only change the cartridge that need to be replaced. This printer uses printer consumables, Brother LC61 ink cartridges: Brother LC61BK black ink cartridge, Brother LC61C cyan ink cartridge, Brother LC61M magenta ink cartridge and Brother LC61Y yellow ink cartridge. And for today’s article, we’re going to give the following steps on how one can replace the ink cartridges of their Brother MFC-250C printer without the need to ask for any assistance. The following procedures are from Brother Solutions Center.

Steps to Replace Brother LC61 Ink Cartridges for Brother MFC-250C

• Step 1 - Open the ink cartridge cover. If one or more ink cartridges is empty (for example Black), the
  LCD displays "Cannot Print (Replace BK Ink)" or "B&W Print Only".

• Step 2 - Press down on the release lever to unlock it and take out the ink cartridge for the color indicated on the LCD.
• Step 3 - Open the new ink cartridge bag for the color indicated on the LCD, and then take out the ink cartridge. 
• Step 4 - Turn the green knob on the protective yellow cap clockwise to release the vacuum seal, then remove the cap (1). You must hold the ink cartridge as indicated in the picture below.
• Step 5 - Each color has its own correct position. Insert the ink cartridge in the direction of the arrow on the label. 
• Step 6 - Gently push in the ink cartridge until it clicks, and then close the ink cartridge cover.
• Step 7 - The machine will automatically reset the ink level.

Take note that if you replaced an ink cartridge in your Brother MFC-250C, the LCD will verify if the cartridge is a brand new one. For each new cartridge you installed, you must press Yes or 1 or the Up Arrow Key to automatically instruct your printer to reset the ink level for that color. On the other hand, if the cartridge you install is not new, you can press No or 2 or the Down Arrow Key.

After these steps, refresh your desktop and try to do some test-printing to make sure that you have installed your new cartridges correctly.
