The Brother MFC-8710DW is a
cost-efficient monochrome multifunction printer that delivers the printing
needs of any busy offices. It produces professional black & white output at
impressive print and copy speeds of up to 40 pages per minute. Like any other
multifunction printers, this lets users’ print, scan or PC fax over your
wireless 802.11b/g/n or Ethernet network or connects locally via its Hi-Speed
USB 2.0 interface. It also features an adjustable, 250-sheet capacity tray for
letter or legal-size paper, plus a 50-sheet capacity multi-purpose tray and an
optional 500-sheet capacity paper tray is available for additional capacity.
This printer uses replacement
printer cartridge, Brother
TN-750 Toner Cartridge which offers a high printing page yield capacity of
up to 8,000 pages at 5% coverage to help lower your operating costs. But
similar to other laser printers, this is not an exception to having usual
problems. One of these problems is having toner specks in your Brother
MFC-8710DW. To fix this problem, you have to identify the problem. Toner specks
are usually caused by these things:
- Rough-surfaced paper may cause the problem so make sure that you use paper that meets our specifications.
- Worn-out drum cartridge also can cause this problem. Replace the drum cartridge to fix this problem. The Brother MFC-8710DW uses replacement drum cartridge, Brother DR720 Drum Unit.
- Dirty corona wire and drum unit can also cause this problem.
To clean the corona wire, follow
these steps:
- Leave the machine turned on for 10 minutes for the internal fan to cool the extremely hot parts inside the machine.
- Press the front cover release button and then open the front cover.
- Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
- Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the green tab from left to right and right to left several times.
- Put the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back into the machine.
- Close the front cover of the machine.
While to clean the drum unit,
follow these steps:
- Make sure that the machine is in the Ready mode.
- Press Menu. Then press the Up or Down arrow key to display Print Reports.
- Press Print Reports. Then press the Up or Down arrow key to display Drum Dot Print. Press Drum Dot Print.
